DON'T BE ASHAMED OF THAT

Parker need not be ashamed of the memory laps she had when reading the title of my last post.
"Bring on the Dancing Bares" was not a play on Echo and The Bunnymen's "Bring on the Dancing Horses."
In fact, I had to listen to the song to remember what Parker was talking about.
Parker confesses: "I clearly need to give back my membership in the Jake Ryan Fan Club."
Well Parker, Ol' Pal O' Mine, dont give it back over Echo and The Bunnymen, hand it over when the membership Police to knock on your door re: your Madge Love.

I AM SO ASHAMED

Parker here.

Am I losing my 80's touch?

Am i officially old?

When I saw the title of Libby's blog "Bring on the Dancing Bares" I had to turn to the trusting interweb to jog my memory on who sang Bring on the Dancing Horses

Ashamed.

My 7 year old daughter can remember Jake Ryan and I can't remember Echo and the Bunnymen.  I clearly need to give back my membership in the Jake Ryan Fan Club.

MADGE: THE GREAT DIVIDER

Libby and I are destin to disagree forevah on the merits of Madge.

I love the Material Girl.  Libby doesn't love her at all.

And I love her new song, regardless of how many stripper poles will be used in support of it.

But why I like it the most..... is the sh+tshow it has caused with that d-bag Joe Francis.

I like anything that has him spending money on legal fees.  All the while increasing the publicity for the Material Girl.

Sorry Libby.

BRING ON THE DANCING BARES

The strip joints will be playing this song to death.
Way to go Madonna, you've out done yourself again - not.
Rudest part is, you've rehashed 1984 Cyndi Lauper with this lyric: “Girls they just want to have fun.”
Madge, you've become the Value Village of music.

HEY HEY WE'RE SO SAD :(

Davy Jones, the former lead singer of The Monkee's has died of a heart attack at 66 years old.
This Sleepy Jean can't be cheered up today :(
To me, Davy Jones was the epitome of cute.

PARKER'S HUMOUR STRIKES AGAIN

I have been laughing to myself for 2 days.
Parker sent me a text over the weekend saying she did a celebratory shooter.
What's making me laugh is, FIRST, the name of the shooter and SECOND, in a matter of months thanks to the ebbs and flow of life, Parker and I are returning to things we thought we left behind in the 80's.
Life is a funny, funny thing :)

PARKER'S HUMOUR SENT ME TO SUMMER SCHOOL

It's true, Parker has always had a GREAT sense of humour.
To this minute her humour continues to carry me through.
In High School, it entertained me to no end.
So much so, that I bombed Grade 9 English and Math.
Parker was a disciplined academic who could compartmentalize and turn off the sillyness.
I could not and even if I could have, I would have chosen NOT to.
I was like a kid in a candy store in the 80's.
In Grade 9, education was the very last thing I was interested in.
I lived for the gossip, the boy sightings, Parker's jokes, the class clowns.....and I went to High School for the fashion show.
Did Summer school correct this problem?
Nope. Not at all. Plus my Parker wasn't there to tell me to smarten up.
Think about it: Who attends Summer school?
ALL the people, OTHER than Parker, who entertained the shit out of me :)
